B041MEN Gyrator Matest EN This Gyratory Compactor, entirely developed and manufactured by Matest, is used to simulate and reproduce the real compaction conditions under actual road paving operations, hence determining the compaction properties of the asphalt.

Such compaction is achieved in a fully automatic way, by combining the rotary action and the vertical resultant force applied by a mechanical head. The Compactor comprises a highly rigid steel frame ensuring excellent angle control.

Load is applied by an electro-pneumatic cylinder, servo-controlled by a precision pressure regulator; the height is measured by a linear transducer. Gyratory motion is generated by an eccentric high precision system allowing an easy set-up with precision and constant angle of gyration.

Using the proper perforated mould, the Compactor can run tests also on a cold emulsified asphalt mixture.

The acquired results are also employed in the investigation of the volumetric and mechanical characteristics of the asphalt mix.

The touch-screen icon interface allows an easy set-up of the parameters and an immediate automatic execution of the test, data acquisition and processing, graphics and file. Remote test control is available through dedicated software, provided in the bundle.
Direct connection to Intranet (through LAN network) and Internet to establish a remote communication and receive an immediate diagnostic of
potential problems from Matest technicians, or software updates.
Unlimited memory storage with 2 USB ports, and 1 SD card.

The machine is calibrated at Matest factory with the internal angle set according to the Standard chosen by the customer:

Angle set to 0.82° to meet EN 12697-10, EN 12697-31
Data acquisition: number of rotations, specimen height, applied load (to assure tolerances requested by the Standards)
Requires pressurized air, minimum 7 bar.
Matest Gyratory Compactor is supplied complete with lubricant and power cord.

Optional extras are: moulds, filter paper, penetration pistons, extruder, bench, air compressor etc., to be ordered separately (see accessories)

Used for research purposes, this electromechanical compactor allows for the adjustment of the gyratory angle, selectable in a range between 0° and 3°, during compaction, real-time direct shear and torque measurement.

Gyromec is an electromechanical gyratory compactor. The load is applied by an electro-mechanical cylinder with a load cell positioned directly on the vertical actuator for precise load measurement.
It is used to simulate and reproduce real compaction conditions and actual road paving to determine the compaction properties of asphalts in compliance with ASTM, EN and AS standards.
Useful for both quality control of concrete as well as in research and product development.
The machine can also perform automatic final flattering cycles at zero angles to obtain specimens with perpendicular faces.
